North Carolina organization receives grant to implement HealthMatters Program
Henderson, NC - Community Workforce Solutions (CWS) is pleased to announce being the recipient of a grant from the Triangle North Healthcare Foundation to promote health outcomes for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). CWS will utilize the grant funding to implement an evidence based 12-week HealthMatters Program with 40 adults with IDD in three sites. The Program focuses on making healthy food choices and incorporating physical activity into daily life.
“We are excited to be able to offer this program to the individuals we support. While our services have traditionally focused on employment, we recognize the importance of physical health and wellness as well,” said Cheri Howell, Assistant Executive Director, CWS.
The Triangle North Healthcare Foundation is a non-profit regional grantmaking organization that supports and invests in health and wellness initiatives in Vance, Warren, Franklin, and Granville counties that will result in immediate and long term improvement in the health status of the region.
